Wesselman Woods Nature Preserve is the nation’s largest urban forest contained within city limits and an Indiana State Nature Preserve and National Natural Landmark. Over 190 acres of old growth forest with six miles of walking trails, as well as an additional 50 acres featuring younger trees, field, pond and a nature playscape. The on-site nature center provides opportunity for animal encounters, a wild-life observatory, and brand new exhibits to engage all ages. Wesselman Nature Society provides environmental education and outdoor recreation experiences designed to awaken the senses and enrich the lives of area residents and visitors.
